Dr. Ford
Dr. John Ronald Deep Ford

Dr. John Ronald Deep Ford served on the St. Stanislaus College Old Boys Committee in the early 1980s and was the Chairman of the SSCF Sub-Committee. He was instrumental in linking the potential of the SSCF to the newer, Latin American technologies that IICA was willing to transfer. It was Deep who in 1983 successfully married Hector to SSCF.

Despite migrating in 1985 his professional work in the area of International Economic Development has allowed him to be in Guyana every year and he has maintained his interest and contribution to the development of Saints Farm.

Dr. Ford has a Ph.D in Agricultural Economics and more than twenty five years experience working globally as an economist in the areas of agricultural policy, planning, and project development, agricultural trade, food security and food policy. Over the past three years he has been a Senior Economist and Leader of the Trade and Development Group in the Commodities and Trade Division, FAO Rome.

Prior to joining FAO in 2000 as a Food Security Policy Economist in the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Office in Chile, Dr. Ford worked as an agricultural economist for the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Commonwealth Secretariat, and as the Coordinator of the International Agricultural Development Program and Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Vermont, USA.
