Mr. Fernandes
Mr. Joseph Christopher Fernandes, A.A is the Chairman of the St. Stanislaus College Association Farm Management Committee which is responsible for the administration of the Farm.
In 1978, Chris was elected as a member of the executive of the St. Stanislaus College Association and volunteered to serve on the Management Committee of the Farm and has done so for the last thirty years.
Chris attended the St. Stanislaus College for seven years, graduating in 1962 when he joined the firm of T. Geddes Grant Limited as a clerk in the Agriculture Department. He had intended to pursue a career in Agriculture but his career changed when in 1966 he married Desire Yhip and they had four sons.
In 1966, he joined John Fernandes Insurance Limited, where he managed the Agency until 1982. After the death of his Father, John Fernandes Snr., he joined John Fernandes Limited as the Secretary/Director and in March 1992 became the Chairman and CEO of the Company.
In October 2005, he was appointed as the first Chairman of the newly constituted Board of Governors of the St. Stanislaus College.
